…And that’s a wrap!
Earlier today we released Chapter 11, the final episode of our take on Dragon of Icespire Peak, the campaign included in the D&D Essentials Kit. What a ride! It was a true learning curve for me – there, in Chapter 1, for everyone to listen to, is my very first session as a DM and, stuttering and unsure as I was, I had a blast even then. Throughout the next 23 hours (23 hours!) of gameplay I installed the basics in my mind, started to find my feet, and most importantly had a great time with three fantastic people.
I could write a thousand flowery words, but I think this screenshot much better illustrates best why TTRPGs are still a massive presence in the modern digital age:
I think, especially at a time when the shadow of Covid and its lockdowns is still with many of us, taking a couple of hours away from the stress and struggles of real life to make up a bunch of stupid accents, roll some clickedyclacks and indulge in a little fantasy storytelling around a table, in person, with people you feel comfortable being silly around is a true tonic. I honestly can’t recommend it enough, and if you’re here because you’ve been watching us play and you’re curious to try it yourself, I implore you to do so.
But what’s next for us? Well…
For the last few months a world has been building itself in my mind. This world – which I hope you will join us in discovering – is called Vahara. Jordan, Kate and Sam have rolled up their new characters – though this may not yet be the last we see of Hazel, Jace and Korgin – and the story of the Eisengrau Uprising has already begun to unfold…
Me and the Three are going to work together to build a decent amount of content so that we can release weekly episodes later this year, hopefully beginning at the end of March, and we’d be absolutely thrilled if you could join us. Remember; here at burning-dice.com you’ll always have a seat at the table.
Thank you so much for being here, and we’ll see you again soon!
